Mumbai, Sep 14 : The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) rallied by 222 points at 37,940.26 in early trade on renewed buying in FMCG, Energy, Realty, Bankex, Industrials stocks.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) too moved up by 89.15 points to
11,459.05.
During intra day, the Sensex touched 38K level to 38,058. In scrips like VEDL, Powergrid, Yes Bank and Tata Steel kept the market firm in opening trade.
The Sensex registered intra day high ane low at 38,058.92 and 37,874.33 respectively.
The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 11,484.80 and 11,430.05 respectively.
The gainers were VEDL by 3.69 pc to Rs 232, Powergrid by 3.46 pc to Rs 199.85, Yes Bank by 3.16 pc to Rs 324.40 and Tata Steel by 2.12 pc to Rs 618.35.
The losers were Infosys by 0.83 pc to Rs 736.50, Hind Unilever by 0.61 pc to Rs 1618, Wipro by 0.32 pc to Rs 327.60 and TCS by 0.26 pc to Rs 2038.35.
