Directs officials to maintain schemes, supply pure water to consumers

Srinagar, Sep 15 : Chief Engineer Public Health Engineering (PHE), Engineer Abdul Wahid on Saturday clarified that the drinking water can’t cause Hepatitis-C, claiming that the disease is not water borne.
According to Kashmir News Service (KNS) correspondent, Er Wahid said the Hepatitis-C is not water borne disease, terming the reports regarding the issue as ‘incorrect’.
He said that the drinking water supply can’t cause Hepatitis-C disease.
Er Wahid added that the reports are being circulated on social media, showing raw water, claiming that the water is contaminated for drinking purpose, saying that the raw water is being supplied to the people are getting through various processes including filtration, chlorination and others.
He also directed the officials of the PHE department to maintain the water supply schemes and supply pure drinking water to the people. (KNS)
