‘Pollution Control Board acting as mute spectator’

 

Srinagar (KPS): Media persons working round the clock for people in Srinagar’s Press Enclave inhale hazardous gases emanate from Diesel generator for which several representations were sent to government but all in vain.

According to reports, several newspaper organizations have wrote to authorities regarding a diesel generator installed by a shopkeeper in Estates building  which has become nuisance not only for media persons but visitors as well.

Several representations have been forwarded to the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, State Pollution Control Board and Srinagar Municipal Corporation in this regard but till date no action has been taken.

Media organizations have time and again appealed concerned authorities to take cognizance of the issue and visit Press Enclave to remove this health hazard which has badly affected the health of media persons working round the clock and visitors in the Press Enclave.

Media organizations have alleged that Pollution Control Board is behaving as mute spectator despite several representations have forward to take action against the said Generator owner. (KPS)
