Srinagar, Sep 26: The court of Anti Corruption Judge, Srinagar Ravinder Nath Wattal Wednesday convicted Ghulam Mehdi Pandit of Iskanderpora, Budgam, then Senior Assistant, D.C Office Budgam in a case FIR vide number 21/2007,  Police Station Vigilance Organization Kashmir and sentenced him to one year imprisonment and a fine of Rs.15,000 under Section 5(1) read with Section 5(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act and six months imprisonment and a fine of Rs.2500 under Section 161 RPC. The accused has been sent to jail.

The accused was caught red handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.3000 from Muhammad Ramzan Bhat for processing his file regarding providing of a path way. Chief Prosecuting officer Ghulam Jeelani Senior Prosecuting officer Reyaz Ahmad argued the case before the Court.
