Srinagar:ย  Strict restrictions have been imposed in parts of Srinagar city including old city in wake of the shutdown call given by Joint Resistance Leadership against killing of a youth by forces on Thursday.

Eyewitnesses said a large contingent of police personnel has been deployed in city putting restrictions on peoples movement.

Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) on Thursday called for a complete shutdown on Friday to protest against the civilian killing and frequent CASOโ€™s in the Valley especially in South Kashmir.
JRL comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued here condemned the โ€˜the fresh wave of selective genocide of Kashmiri youthโ€™ that once again resulted in the killing of an innocent civilian at Noorbagh area of Srinagar in the wee hours of Thursday.
The trio also condemned the fresh arrest spree of resistance leadership in the name of creating environment for civic polls and the frequent CASOโ€™s across the length and breadth of Kashmir, especially south Kashmir and called for a complete shutdown and protests on September 28 (Friday).
