Srinagar: The employees of the state fisheries department today held a protest demonstration against the amendments in new recruitment rules in the department.

The protesters under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Fisheries Employees Association (JKFA) assembled here in Pratap Park and staged a protest against the department, witnesses told Kashmir Reader.

The protesters said that fisheries department has amended rules in recruitment policy under which the direct recruitment will be applied and existing employees at their concerned post will not attain promotion.

President JKFA, Ather Muzaffer told Kashmir Reader that the changed recruitment policy was unacceptable to the employees because it puts the future of 1600 employees in a limbo.
