Srinagar: Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested a local militant who was affiliated with Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), a militant outfit.In a statement issued to (KNO), police spokesman said “On 03.10.2018 while acting on a reliable input Sopore Police along with Army 32RR & 92 Bn.CRPF arrested one local militant namely Amir Sultan War, son of Mohd Sultan War of Naidkhai Sumbal Bandipora during NAKA checking at Baramulla-Handwara road near Hadipora crossing.”
“The militant had recently joined the LeT outfit when his video has gone viral with weapon in which he was seen giving threat to the people of North Kashmir not to participate in the forthcoming Local Bodies and Panchayat elections,” Police said. He said that a case has been registered in P/S Dangiwacha and investigation taken up.
