Bandipora: Scores of employees of health department on Tuesday staged a demonstration in this north Kashmir Township seeking justice for their colleague who was allegedly burnt to death by her in-laws here this morning.

Scores of health employees, including paramedics took out a march from Nusu to Gulshan Chowk against what they termed murder of their colleague by her in-laws, witnesses told Kashmir Reader. The protesters assembled at main chowk and shouted slogans for the slain nurse.

“The protesters were demanding a high-level enquiry into the death of their colleague who was mercilessly burned to death by her In-laws,” Fayaz Ahmad, a witness said.

The victim, who is survived by three children, one among them a specially abled, was working as a health employee in District hospital Bandipora. She breathed her last at the district hospital Bandipora where she worked.

Her family has alleged that “she was killed by her in-laws as she has suffered years of harassment at their hands after she was married 8 years ago in Ahamahreef village”.

A police official earlier confirmed to Kashmir Reader that all her In-laws have been brought for questioning.
