Srinagar: Train services have been suspended again on Wednesday as precautionary measures in the Kashmir valley a poling for the second phase began in 49 municipal wards.

The Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik have called for strike only in areas where the polling will be held today.

Train services were resumed on Tuesday after remaining suspended on Monday when the first of the four phase polling was held in the state.

We have received a fresh advisory from police to suspend all train runs in the Kashmir valley today, a senior railway official said.

The trains will not chug on Badgam-Srinagar-Anantnag-Qazigund in southern Kashmir to Banihal in Jammu region. Similarly, trains will also not run on Srinagar-Badgam and Baramulla in northern Kashmir, he said.
