Srinagar: New York based, the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), an independent watchdog body, has slammed Jammu and Kashmir government over the assault on journalists.

In a tweet posted on its official handle, CPJ said that the authorities in Jammu and Kashmir should not be assaulting journalists for doing their jobs.

“Obstructing and beating up reporters as they cover elections and demonstrations is a direct attack on press freedom,” the post read.
