Lecturer’s Forum seeks Governor’s intervention

Srinagar, Oct 21 : In a surprising move authorities have assigned the Patwaris magisterial duty to supervise the Board Exams beginning from Monday. Kashmir News Service (KNS) is in possession of an order from SDM Uri assigning Magisterial duties to Patwaris and Assistant Agriculture Extension officers who would supervise the conduct of exams in various centers of the area.
The move has however not gone well with the Teaching fraternity who alleged that Non Gazetted officials should not have been asked to supervise the gazetted officers.
The Jammu and Kashmir Lecturer’s forum has expressed concern about the move and said this tantamounts to underestimate the integrity and capability of lecturers and other teaching staff. The forum’s Chairman has appealed Governor for intervention. (KNS)
