Baramulla, Dec 1:A panchayat ghar was set ablaze by unidentified persons in this north Kashmir district, official sources said here.
A building, housing panchayat at Heewan Sheeri in Baramulla, was set afire by unidentified persons on Friday night. However, fire tenders were rushed to the spot from different areas to douse the flames. Local and police personnel also joined the fire fighting operation, they said.
The building suffered some damage, the sources said, adding that police has registered a case and initiated action.
About a dozen panchayat ghars were damaged by miscreants since the panchayat polls started in the Kashmir valley this month.
Polling for 6th phase of panchayat polling was underway in the Valley.(UNI)
