Srinagar, Dec 01: In the sixth phase of ongoing Panchayat polls in Jammu and Kashmir, the candidates belonging to Indian National Congress (INC) party in Dooru constituency have won 37 halqas out of 43 where the polls were conducted on Saturday.
Party sources told KNS that that its candidates have emerged winners from 37 Panchayat halqas out of 43 where polls were held today.
Notably, there are 51 Panchayat halqas in Dooru constituency and eight out of them remained uncontested.
Besides, 37 won by Congress candidates, BJP has emerged winner from two halqas while as four others were won by independent candidates.
Similarly, the party sources divulged that the Congress candidates also got good response by people as they emerged winner from several halqas from their too.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G A Mir in a statements issued to KNS congratulated the candidates who won the Panchayat elections in the valley, especially the winning candidates of Dooru, Devsar and elsewhere in South Kashmir and elsewhere.
