Srinagar: The Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik on Friday called for a complete protest shutdown in poll-bound areas on Saturday.

The areas include Hyhama, Kupwara, Hajin, Nadihal, Narwah, Boniyar, Qamarwari, B.K.Pora, Narbal, Achgooze, Pampore, Imam Sahib and Qaimoh.

The polling for the 8th phase of panchayat elections will begin tomorrow morning.

JRL, in a statement, asked people to boycott “this futile exercise by staying away from polls”.
