Srinagar: Three bunkers in Srinagar’s Amira Kadal have been removed by the civic body Srinagar Municipal Corporation on Tuesday morning.

The bunkers which have been there since ‘90s was occiped by CRPF. They had encroached a large portion of space in the commercial hub.

Srinagar city Mayor Junaid Azim Mattu said a park will be developed on the cleared site.

“All three bunkers at the end of Amira Kadal Bridge (towards HSH Street) have been demolished and the land cleared,” Junaid tweeted, “(It) will be developed as a park by SMC now and maintained in coordination with the local Dastageer Sahab (RA) Shrine Auqaf Committee. Well done!”
