Srinagar, Dec 27 Padma Shri awardee and former Vice Chancellor (VC) of Kashmir University (KU) Hamidi Kashmir passed away here, family sources said. He was 86.
Kashmir, a recipient of Ghalib Award, Sahitya Akademi in 2005 and Padma Shri in 2010, breathed his last on Wednesday night.
Kashmir, a writer, educationist and poet, penned 50 books.
He will be laid to rest today.
