Kabul, Jan 17 Afghan special forces conducted a clearance operation in northwestern province of Badghis, killing 39 Taliban fighters and destroying 30 IEDs, military officials on Thursday said.
The operation was launched in Qal’ah-e Now that clear the insurgents, according to the officials, adding that “the insurgents’ safe havens has been destroyed during the operation.”
Afghan forces also managed to seize the militants’ weapons, targeting their hideouts.
The militant group has not commented on the situation so far.
