Poonch, Jan 23 : A residential house was partially damaged and people were confined to houses as India and Pakistan traded fresh along the line of control in Jammu division’s Poonch district on Wednesday.

Official sources said Pakistan army targeted residential areas at Krishna Ghati Sector of Mendhar area in Poonch as a result of which house of one Mohammad Sharf at Nar Mankote suffered damages.

Reports said due to the continuous shelling and firing, the people have restricted their movement and have confined themselves to their houses.

SDPO Mendhar Neeraj Padyar told GNS shelling started at 3 pm and continued intermittently thereafter.

Official sources said that the army also retaliated the shelling and when this report was filed, the exchange of shells was going on intermittently. (GNS)
