Srinagar, Jan 25 : The students of Kashmir University whose examination is scheduled on Feb 2 demand postponement due to the closure of national highway.
Many students, they said, are either stranded in Jammu and some are stuck at different places on Srinagar-Jammu highway, which continues to remain shut due to heavy snowfall.
The aggrieved students held demonstrations in the premises of Kashmir University here for postponement of the exams as their colleagues are stranded on different locations on Srinagar-Jammu highway and winter capital Jammu. They have sought immediate postponement of exams. The protesting students also locked down one of the gates known as Moulana Rumi Gate, as mark of a protest to demand postponement of examination scheduled on Feb 2.
“I am in Jammu. My flight has rescheduled thrice. Everyone cannot afford air tickets,” a BA LLB student told Kashmir News Service (KNS) over phone from Jammu.
We are stranded. Some are stuck in national highway. How can we appear, she added. (KNS)
