Srinagar: Traffic Wednesday morning resumed on Srinagar-Jammu Highway, the only road linking the Kashmir valley with the rest of the world after landslides and shooting stones were cleared during night-long operation.

Traffic officials said that the highway has been thrown open for one way traffic from Srinagar to Jammu and no vehicle would be allowed from opposite direction.

He said the traffic on the highway was disrupted due to continuous shooting stones and landslides at Anokhifall, Battery Cheshma and other places between Banihal and Ramban on Tuesday when traffic was to ply from Srinagar to Jammu.

There is a forecast for fresh widespread rain and snow besides avalanche warning on January 30 and 31 which could affect surface and air traffic.
