Jammu, Feb 2 Against the backdrop of a woman killed by terrorists in Shopian district of Kashmir, whose video later went viral on social media, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday said that it is her decision on what matter she has to tweet and on what to not.
‘I am not answerable to you. On what issue I have to tweet and on what to not, is my own decision,’ Ms Mufti told reporters here, when questioned about her silence on the killing of a woman by the terrorists in Shopian.
Speaking at the sidelines of a function, the PDP Chief, however, said that if Muzaffarabad and Rawlakote roads can be thrown open, then why not other routes, including Kargil-Skardu.
‘When former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee went to Lahore and talks were on with the Hurriyat, was the situation not worse at that time, what is wrong at present in holding talks with the Pakistan,’ she asked.
‘For how long will both (India-Pakistan) keep blaming each other and continue bloodshed,’ she wondered.
If they (Pakistan) are involved into infiltration, then they must be asked why they are doing so, by engaging them in dialogue, Ms Mufti suggested.
The PDP leader also announced that Mr Abdul Qayum Wani, a retired government official, who joined the party in her presence here this morning, will be the Parliament candidate from Baramulla constituency.
‘After consulting all the party leaders, it was decided that Mr Abdul Qayum Wani will be the PDP candidate from Baramulla Parliament constituency for Lok Sabha Polls,’ she added.
