Srinagar: Thousands of people on Thursday participated in funeral prayers of slain Lashkar-e- Toiba commander Irfan Ahmad Sheikh in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
An eyewitness said that despite snow thousands including women and children reached village Chakoora and participated in the funeral prayers of slain militant commander.
Pro-freedom and pro-Islam slogans were raised by the mourners as the body was marched towards the local graveyard.
Irfan was killed in a brief gunfight with the forces in Chakoora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday.
