Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairperson Muhammad Yasin Malik Tuesday expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of grand Mufti Jammu and Kashmir Mufti Bashir-ud-Din.
Malik along with a delegation comprising of vice chairman Mushtaq Ajmal and others visited the residence of grand Mufti, met with his bereaved family and expressed condolences, a statement of JKLF said.
Terming late Mufti as an iconic Islamic scholar and social figure, Malik said that his efforts for social harmony and spreading Islam will always be remembered.
On the directions of Malik, a delegation of JKLF also participated in funeral prayers of late grand Mufti, the statement said.
