Srinagar, Feb 15 : Chief Secretary B V R Subrahmanyam, Commissioner Secretary Home , ADGP Home Guards and Security Muneer Ahmed Khan and Divisional  Commissioner Jammu Sanjeev Verma visited employees colonies in the state’s winter capital  amid curfew on Friday late evening.

Secretariat Employees Union Ghulam Rasool Mir told GNS that the officers personally visited most of the employees and assured them all security. He said that the officers also urged maintaining peace and brotherhood.

“We are thankful to Governor led administration for swift action and for taking security measures,” Mir said.

Earlier, vehicles of employees from Valley were damaged and stones thrown at official accommodations on Friday.

Reports said a number of vehicles from a particular community have been damaged and attempts were made to set on fire their dwellings by the rampaging crowds.  Subsequently authorities imposed curfew in the district. (GNS)
