Says filling up of jails by Kashmiris will not serve any purpose

Srinagar, Feb 23 (PR) : Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader and former Trade union leader Abdul Qayoom Wani Saturday said that large scale crackdown against Jamati Islami activists and Hurriyat leaders and filling up of jails by Kashmiris is in no way justified.
In a statement issued to KPS, Wani said “such types of actions have created sense of insecurity, chaos and confusion in the state.”
Wani said that in a democratic country, “we should have difference of opinion but it does not mean that muscle power is the only solution.”
“Resumption of talks is the only way forward to find out solutions to all the issues including political Kashmir issue,” he said, urging upon the government to stop such type of actions and release all the arrested persons to avoid sense of insecurity among the people.
