IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, who was handed over to India by Pakistan on 1 March, is expected to be debriefed and will undergo physiological as well as a pschycological check-up on Saturday, 2 March.

Abhinandan landed in Delhi late on Friday night, hours after he was handed over to Indian authorities at the Attari-Wagah border near Amritsar.

According to an official who was part of the team that received him, Abhinandan is believed to have said that it felt “good to be back in my country,” as he set foot on Indian soil after spending nearly three days in captivity in Pakistan.
