Mir extends Mahashivratri greetings to people

Srinagar March 3(PR) The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G.A. Mir has extended greetings to people on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri popularly known in Kashmir as Herath and prayed for wellbeing of the people.

In his message, G.A. Mir felicitated Kashmiri Pandit brethren on this auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri describing it as a unique and wonderful occasion.

The Kashmiri Pandit and Muslim brethren used to celebrate the occasion in unison, besides exchanging greetings and visiting each other on this occasion, G.A. Mir said.

The occasion of Mahashivratri (Herath) has always been the manifestation of composite culture of diversity, harmony and brotherhood in the State, leading the people at the path of friendship and unity. The auspicious occasion also refreshes the memory of togetherness and brotherhood between Kashmir pandit and Muslim brethren, who will continue to miss each other especially on this occasion, Mir said

I convey my hearty greeting to Pandit brethren and pray for their early return to valley, as that the Kashmir culture shall remain incomplete without Kashmir Pandits and Kashmiri Muslims will continue to miss their Pandit brothers and sisters, G.A. Mir added and hoped that Mahashivratri will be the harbinger of complete peace and development in the State.

He wished a happy and prosperous Mahashivratri to people.
