New Delhi, Feb 28(UNI)The recently appointed Delhi Police Special Commissioner(Law and Order) SN Shrivastava will be holding additional charge of Delhi Police Commissioner, a Home Ministry notification said here on Friday.
A 1985 batch IPS officer of AGMUT cadre, Mr Shrivastava will assume the charge of Police Commissioner on Saturday after the superannuation of incumbent Police Commissioner Amulya Patanaik.
According to the Home Ministry notification, Mr Shrivastava will hold the additional responsibility till further order.
Mr Shrivastava was brought as Special Commissioner on February 25 when the north east Delhi was reeling under unabated violence between the two groups that killed over 35 persons and left several injured.
Prior to this appointment, he was serving as Director General(Training) in the largest para-military force CRPF.
