Srinagar, Mar 6: A civilian was killed in a grenade attack in the summer capital, Srinagar on Friday evening.

Official sources told UNI that militants lobbed a grenade at a security force party at M R Gung in downtown Srinagar on Friday evening. However, they said the grenade missed the target and exploded at a distance, resulting in critical injuries to a civilian.

They said the civilian was immediately taken to a hospital where he succumbed. “The militants managed to escape from the spot under the cover of darkness,” they said, adding additional security forces have been rushed to the area and a search operation has been lunched to nab the attackers. (UNI)
