New Delhi, Mar 13: Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan told the Lok Sabha on Friday that there was
no shortage of doctors and medicines in the Central Government Health Schemes (CGHS).
Responding to a question during Question Hour, Dr Vardhan said the past five years have witnessed a
lot of reforms in the scheme. The government is working towards improving it further.
Suggestions in this regard were sought from the stakeholders and a committee was formed, which, based on
the feed back, came out with a set of recommendations.
The CGHS facility is available in 72 cities across the country and has 329 allopathic wellness and 82 AYUSH centres.
