Kupwara, Mar 20, : Police Friday warned miscreants of consequences who spread misinformation about Coronavirus in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
SSP Kupwara Shri Ramambedkar told KNT that a wave of misinformation and rurours on Coronavirus is creating panic among people in the district.
“Since the Coronavirus outbreak, misinformation, especially through WhatsApp, has risen. I appeal people not to give heed to these rumours. There is nothing to panic and no case of Coronavirus has been reported from Kupwara,” Ambedkar told news agency KNT.
He said that strict action will follow against rumour mongers. He advised people to stay indoors and stop venturing out un-necessarily.  “People need to avoid visiting markets and hospitals un-necessarily,” he said adding that everything in the district is under control and there is no need to panic.
