Srinagar, Apr 14 : In a significant development, the Jammu & Kashmir government on Tuesday morning revoked Public Safety Act (PSA) detention orders of 41 persons languishing in different jails of Uttar Pradesh.

Highly placed sources in administration of J&K Union Territory disclosed to wire serviceโ€”Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that government this morning revoked PSA detention orders of 41 persons languishing in different jails of Uttar Pradesh.

Under the Public Safety Act, the government is empowered to revoke detention orders passed by district magistrates. The Kashmir News Observer (KNO), had last night exclusively reported that government will begin the process of releasing detunes lodged in jails of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.

With this, the number of PSA detention orders revoked in the past one month has reached 140. On Monday, the government had revoked PSA detention orders of 36 persons languishing in different jails of J&K on Monday.

After abrogation of Article 370 by BJP-led Central government, nearly 5000 persons were arrested in Kashmir to scuttle protests against the move of them, many were shifted outside J&K and lodged in eight jails of Uttar Pradesh and Haryanaโ€”(KNO)
