Srinagar, Apr 19: Continuing its drive against lockdown violators’ police booked two shopkeepers from Ganderbal and Srinagar city.

Sources told KNT that police station Safa Kadal arrested a shopkeeper for violating prohibitory orders.

A formal FIR vide number 45/2020 under section 188 was registered against the shopkeeper identified as Farooq Ahmed Hakroo son of Ghulam Rasool, a resident of Lattar Masjid Safakadal.

Similarly, police station Kheerbhawani in Ganderbal booked a shopkeeper namely Ghulam Qadir Shiekh son of Abdul Rahid, a resident of Sheikh Mohalla Ganderbal. An FIR vide number 11/2020 under section 188 was registered against him.

Pertinently, Jammu Kashmir Police have lodged over 1000 cases, seized over 1200 shops and vehicles and booked over 2000 people to contain the spread of Covid-19 in erstwhile State. (KNT)
