Baramulla, May 01 : A minor girl and a woman were on Friday injured along the Line of Control (LoC) in Hajipeer and Churunda sector of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Official sources told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that Pakistani troopers resorted to heavy shelling on Indian Army posts and residential areas, which was retaliated effectively.

Locals reports said that panic gripped in Chrunda, Batgran, Hathlanga, Mothal, Sahoora, Silikote, Balkote, Nambla, Garkote areas toady afternoon when the heavy shelling took place from both the sides.

However, top police official also confirmed the shelling along LoC, saying that a minor girl and a woman were injured while a residential house has got damaged during the shelling in Churanda village.

Meanwhile, the hospital authorities identified the duo as Shanaza Bano, daughter of Bashir Ahmad and Thaira Bano (20), wife of Liyaqat Ali suffered injuries at Churanda village –(Agencies)
