Srinagar (KPS):The young man Afaaq Rashid Khan who hails from bonpora batamaloo locality inspite of his disease has been looking after the daily of the patients in Valley. He has not been doing voluntary work only after diagnosed with cancer only. His social service started back in his teen age.

In 2015, before being diagnosed with cancer Afaq was suffering form persistent abdominal pain. In 2016,he was operated upon and has to went chemo-therapies several times. The day he realized
the real pain lies in being bed ridden, he took a pledge to work voluntarily for his people.

Khan said, “Despite facing financial hardships, i never gave up my spirit of volunteerism. After death your name should be remembered for your character.”

Till now Aafaaq has donated 53 pints of blood in different hospitals of the valley. Not only to known people, he delivers medicines free of cost to the desperate families outside district.

‘My work has always kept my mind diverted from the fact of being a cancer patient”, he added. (KPS)
