Srinagar, May 18 : At least 30 more cops from the 11th battalion of armed police posted in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district were tested positive for the Covid-19 taking the total number of cops tested positive for the virus today alone to 49 including a deputy commandant rank officer.

Earlier in the day, 19 cops from the same battalion were tested positive for the virus. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the reports of 30 more cops came as positive for the coronavirus.

Official sources said earlier said that 19 cops tested positive for Coronavirus in Anantnag district. “Out of 113 samples, 19 came positive,” they had said, adding that all of them belong to 11th battalion of Armed Police.

According to them, Anantnag police is undertaking aggressive testing for identifying COVID-19 cases. “Samples of more than 300 cops have been taken so far for testing,” they said, adding that 30 more reports of cops including deputy rank officer commandant came as positive—(KNO)
