Handwara man tests positive for Covid-19 infection after death

Srinagar, June 6: An elderly man from North Kashmirโ€™s Handwara town who died in Srinagar hospital this morning has been tested positive for Covid-19 infection.

A medico told news agency KNT that a 70 year old patient from Handwara was admitted yesterday in Emergency Ward of SMHS Hospital. He was having acute chest infection and died in the hospital. After his death his samples were taken and body shifted to mortuary.

โ€œHis test was found positive for Covid-19. The body will be handed over to the family with an instruction to strictly follow Covid-19 protocol.

Earlier, Jammu Kashmir witnessed two deaths due to Covid-19 infection.. Both were elderly persons, one hailing from Kashmir another from Jammu.

With this death, the tally has reached to 39 among which 34 deaths took place in Kashmir. (KNT)
