Srinagar, June 15 (GNS): Leading pulmonologist and Head of Department, Chest Disease Hospital Srinagar, one of the exclusive facilities for the management of the novel coronavirus in the Valley, has tested negative for the covid-19.

On June 1, the senior doctor, one of the top healthcare workers leading from the front in the fight against the disease, had tested positive for the virus.

Sources told GNS that his back to back tests returned negative for SARS-CoV2, the microbe that causes Covid-19. He has now been placed under home quarantine as per official guidelines.

Soon after testing positive a fortnight ago, the senior doctor, in a series of tweets, had urged the government to prepare a scientific SOP for duties and testing of all frontline workers to safeguard all.
