Kupwara, June 1: A labourer died on spot while another suffered grievous injuries after they came under a heavy wooden log while working at a compartment of State Forest Corporation in North Kashmir’s Kupwara.

Sources told news agency KNT that two labourers identified as 42 year old Ghulam Hassan Mir son of Saifdin of Chaki Mohalla Offen and Ghulam Ahmad Wagay son of Abdul Razaq of Chari-Sharief Darwan were working SFC Department in compartment number 61, when they suddenly came under a heavy wooden log.

Ghulam Hassan Mir died on spot while another labourer Ghulam Ahmad Wagay were seriously injured and shifted to hospital.

A police official while confirming the incident said that a formal case has been registered at police post Khurhama Kupwara.

“Injured was shifted to hospital for treatment while as after completion of medico legal formalities dead body of said person was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites,” he said. (KNT)
