Srinagar, June 28 : Authorities have assured stern action against Sarpanches of Panchayat Bharath A and B as well as Secretary Panchayat in Doda district for alleged embezzlement of Rs 22 lakhs under 14 FC without following the proper procedure of payments.
“An inquiry is going on and those found guilty will be dealt strictly,” Dr Sagar D Doifode told GNS. He said that the Secretary Panchayat has been already suspended while notice served on the Sarpanches.
“ADC as a CVO is supposed to conduct inquiry and place charge sheet,” he added.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda, the inquiry officer, had asked the sarpaches as well as the secretary to attend his office along with the record on June 19. However, they did not turn up, as per a letter by the ADC to BDO of Dali Udhyanpur.
He has now asked the BDO to direct all of them to attend his office alongwith complete record on June 30 “positively” for further course of enquiry in the matter. (GNS)
