Srinagar, July 25: Police have detained a Kashmir University student in a case registered against him in 2018.

Police sources told news agency KNT that a Kashmir University student had been summoned by police for questioning in a case related to unlawful activities registered in 2018.

Sources said that the said student has been detained now. Sources identified the detained student as Aaqib Ahmed Malik son of Mushtaq Ahmed Malik, a resident of Aglar Pinjora area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.

“A case vide number 68/2018 under section 13 of Unlawful Activities Act stands registered at Police Station Nigeen. The role of the student has been established and subsequently he has been detained,” said an official to KNT.
