Uri, August 18: Locals and traders on Tuesday held a peaceful protest against the ‘blasphemous’ remark against Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and raised slogans, demanding stern punishment to the accused.

Chairman Beopar Mandal Uri Haji Mohammad Shafi said that no Muslim can tolerate anything against the Prophet. “The culprits should be detained under preventive law and should be handed a strict punishment. Their words have the potential to disturb peace.” The protest, according to reports reaching GNS, was carried out from Bus Stand Uri to SDM Office and dispersed later peacefully. (GNS)
