Srinagar, Oct 14 : The Cyber Cell of the Jammu and Kashmir police has warned people not to calls from unknown persons through WhatsApp and Facebook, a police spokesman said on Wednesday.
He said Cyber Cell of the police has received inputs that some fraudsters are misusing the WhatsApp and Facebook and later blackmail innocent persons.
Cyber Cell described it WhatsApp and Facebook Video calling Scam.
The Cell said “ fraudsters nowadays, call general public using WhatsApp and Facebook Video calling services posing as girls. The fraudsters record the video call and then morph it and demand money from victims for not circulating the recorded video on internet”.
He warned not to respond any video call from unknown numbers through WhatsApp and Facebook.
“Be alert and safe”, he said in a message.
