Budgam, 05 Nov: Forest officials on Thursday seized a huge quantity of illicit timber saw mill in Chadoora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district and sealed the mill, news agency KDC reported.

An official told KDC that Forest officials conducted a raid on a saw mill at Gowherpora Chadoora run by one person namely Fayaz Ahmad Magray Son of Gh. Qadir Magray a resident of Kaisermula and seized illicit timber Budloo and Kairoo, measuring about 376ft.

The official added that in this regard case FIR NO 204/20 u/s 379, 6 FA Act has been registered at Police Station Chadoora.

“Two Rangers from Range Office Doodganga Chadoora and Budgam namely Iftikhar Ahmad Qadri and Syed Wasim Balkhi respectively were leading the raids at the said mill along with Force Protection Force and other officials of the Forest Department,” he added.

The latest reports said that the mill has been dismantled and all belongings of the mill have been taken to DFO office Budgam. (KDC)
