Tangmarg, Dec 16: An elderly man was injured after a leopard attacked him in Marispora area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday morning triggering a scare in the entire vicinity.

Local sources told news agency Kashmir Dot Com- (KDC) that a leopard was spotted in a cowshed of Abdul Aziz Lone at Marispora. An elderly local man identified as Mohammad Ramzan Ganie was injured in the attack. The injured person was rushed to nearby hospital for treatment, they said.

The locals from Marispora alleged that the wildlife department was conveyed earlier about the presence of wild animals, however, they showed non-seriousness about the matter.

Residents of the area appealed to the Wildlife Department to capture this leopard as soon as possible in order to prevent any further attack.

An official from the Wildlife department said that our teams are on the spot, the Leopard is inside in the cowshed and we’ll catch this wild animal very soon. (KDC)
