Srinagar, Dec 24: J&K Police claimed to have arrested two persons with Charas-like substance in southern Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday.

“Anantnag Police during a Naka checking at Sangam Chowk intercepted an Echo car bearing registration number JK15-1114 and driven by Gulzar Ahmad Mochi son of Mohammad Shabir, resident of Dangi Wachi along with two boarded passengers,” a police statement, sent to news agency KNT, said.

It identified the two passengers as Mohammad Yousuf War son of Abdul Gaffar, resident of Gund Kareem Khan, Watergam Baramulla and Imitiyaz Ahmad Dhobi son of Ali Mohammad Dobi, resident of Bangi Wachi, Rafiabad Baramulla.

The police claimed to have recovered approximately one kilogram of a Charas-like substance from the said car.

“A case has been registered in this connection and further investigation has been taken up,” the police statement added further. (KNT)
