Budgam, Feb 24: Police in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday claimed to have arrested a drug peddler along with illicit codeine phosphate.

Police sources told News Agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) that during naka checking which was laid on near Ghat Narbal area of the district, Narbal police apprehended a drug peddler and recovered 48 bottles of banned codeine phosphate from his possession.

Sources identified the accused as Gulzar Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Khaliq, a resident of Ghat Narbal village of Budgam.

Police have registered a case under FIR number 21/2021 under sections 8/22 of NDPS Act in Police Station Magam and have initiated further investigations. (KDC)
