Kupwara, Apr 25: After witnessing a surge in Covid-19 cases, district administration has declared 4 villages of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district as “red zones” on Sunday.

The district administration has also enforced a strict curfew not only in the main town but also restricted the movement of people living in the red zones.

An official told news agency Kashmir News Trust that 4 villages have been declared ‘red zones’ in Kupwara. He identified the red zones as Goos, Shaloora Teli Mohalla, Dardsun Kralpora and Bunpora Trehgam.

“There will be no inward or outward movement of any person from these villages and people have been asked to strictly stay indoors,” the official added.

He said the administration will ensure screening of households in these red zones without any delay. (KNT)
