Srinagar, May 05 : The Roads and Buildings Department (R&B) Kashmir Wednesday said that the department has already started the much needed macadamisation of roads amid Covid surge and the department is committed to complete the mecadamisation of 900 km road length in the months ahead.

Pertinently, complaints are pouring in from almost every corner of Kashmir with people especially commuters saying that they are facing immense hardships as most of the roads have developed potholes and are dilapidated.

Talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Chief Engineer R&B Kashmir, Showkat Jeelani said: “Process of macadamisation has already started, as it is a continuous process for the year and it will keep going accordingly.”

Asked about any halt due to COVID 19 he said: “There is no hindrance due to pandemic, even its easy to work under lockdown, and we will continue our task positively and complete the target of macadamising the 900 km rod length as soon as possible.”—(KNO)
