Bandipora, May 7: Police in Bandipora Friday claimed to have recovered hoarded domestic Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders from an accused in Shadipora Sumbal area of the north-Kashmir district.

In an official handout to Srinagar-based news agency Global News Service (GNS), the district police maintained that on receipt of specific information from reliable sources about hoarding of the essential commodity by one Farooq Ahmad Wani a resident of Shadipora, a team led by Mohammad Saleem under the supervision of SDPO Sumbal Surinder Mohan raided the residence of suspected. During the raid domestic LPG cylinders were recovered from the courtyard of the accused.

It came to fore that the accused had hoarded cylinders to sell them on exorbitant rates to intended customers, it maintained.

Accordingly a case FIR vide number 57/2021 under โ€œEssential Commodities Actโ€ was registered in Police Station Sumbal and further investigations set into the motion, it further read. (GNS)
